![]() Right now, I could use a little serendipity. At every race, I still carry that lucky stone Becky gave me for my PR Chicago marathon, but since that one race, it has yet to give me more of the good juju I thought it possessed. ![]() Unfortunately, while that fortune telling is all in good fun, you and I both know that statistically, nothing can predict an outcome or an event. I do have friends who swear by their psychics. I never thought of myself as a controlling person but I guess I kind of am. Maybe that explains why I don't like surprises. Maybe it was just wishful thinking, but I liked the idea of being able to anticipate the unknown. In my younger years, I was always a big believer in voodoo, horoscopes, Ouija, Mystery Date (I always got the dud)-you name it. ![]() Who of you didn't have a Magic 8-Ball when you were a kid? Actually, I didn't have one but one of my sisters did.
